Working in a luxury brand hotel in New York City has always been a life goal of mine and my stay at The New York Edition hotel further intensified my passion. I took a quick three day trip to Manhattan with my mom over the summer and The New York Edition hotel was without a doubt the highlight of our trip.
Located at 5 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10010, The New York Edition neighbors the notorious Flatiron Building. The clocktower hotel stands tall over Madison Square Park, allowing for the rooms to have breathtaking views. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area whether you are looking to eat, shop, grab a coffee or alcoholic beverage, or enjoy the park. Some of my favorite spots nearby are Eataly, The Smith, Seven Grams Caffe, Blue Bottle Coffee, and the Flatiron Building.

The lobby of The New York Edition exudes elegance. It is simple yet luxurious, and it truly sets the tone for your stay. The lobby includes a front desk, seating area, fireplace, and bar. It is a cozy and chic environment with friendly and efficient staff members there to help ensure your check in and check out processes go smoothly, your questions are answered, and your cocktails are delicious. The lobby bar serves food between 11AM-11PM everyday and drinks between 8AM-12AM on Sunday-Monday and 8AM-2AM on Tuesday-Saturday. Most food items on the menu are between $20-25 and most drink items are around $15-25.
273 hotel guest rooms are available, including 5 room types and 5 suite types. The room types are a guest room, superior room, deluxe room, studio, and loft, and the suite types are a loft, madison, park, penthouse, and family suite. The room prices vary between $600-$8,000 per night. You can find more details regarding what each room type entails on The New York Editions' website. During my trip I stayed in a loft suite and it was minimalistic, modern, bright, and glamorous. The room includes a bed, two couches by a round table, a long table with a chair and a bench, a shower, and bathtub (just to describe the basic room setup). There are three windows which bring in natural light and also have stunning views of the city. The beds are spacious and comfortable, and come with an incredibly soft brown blanket.
The hotel provides other amenities and services including a gym, exclusive urban spa, The Clocktower Michelin-Star restaurant, The Bar connected to the restaurant, and meetings and event spaces. The gym is open 24/7 and the spa is open Wednesday-Sunday from 10AM-6PM. The spa is located on the 39th floor and has a variety of treatments guests can choose from. The Clocktower offers breakfast and dinner daily, lunch Monday-Friday, a weekend brunch Saturday-Sunday, and an afternoon tea Friday-Sunday. The hours and menu prices for the restaurant and spa can be found on The New York Edition's website. I did not partake in the restaurant or spa during my quick three day stay, but both are very highly rated on various customer feedback platforms.
When in New York City, I usually don't want to waste any time lounging around my hotel room because there is so much to see and do, but when staying at The New York Edition I don't feel like being in my room is a waste of time at all. It was very tempting to stay in and relax throughout my trip because the hotel's decor and atmosphere is so inviting. The location, rooms, service, amenities and staff all make The New York Edition one of my favorite hotels to stay at in New York City, and if you are looking for a luxurious and peaceful venue for your stay in the busy city, I highly recommend The New York Edition.
